AAMC recognizes the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons
The Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S) is delighted to announce that its 250th Anniversary Scholarship Challenge Viewbook has received national recognition by the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Institutional Advancement (AAMC GIA). AAMC named VP&S a gold award winner of its 2018 GIA Awards for Excellence.
VP&S developed the Scholarship Challenge Viewbook in print and digital formats to detail the importance and impact of scholarship support. This signature piece was leveraged to help raise $25 million in matching funds for endowed scholarships in an ambitious fundraising campaign launched by Dr. Roy and Diana Vagelos during the school’s historic 250th Anniversary year.
A panel of experts selected VP&S to receive the top prize in the Print and Digital Publishing Category. Other institutions recognized in this category include Johns Hopkins, receiving the silver award for the Promise & Progress, Special Issue: Bloomberg-Kimmel Institute on Cancer Immunotherapy, and Harvard Medical School, receiving the bronze award for the Harvard Medical School Financial Aid Brochure.
The GIA Awards for Excellence Competition is an annual, peer-reviewed competition that recognizes outstanding work by members of the Group on Institutional Advancement and their staff. The awards honor the most creative and effective approaches used to promote academic medicine through alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and public affairs/community relations programs and projects.
